On Wednesday 27th June Katelyn, Grace, Malachi and us (Rosie and Anna) went to the Primary Sports Canterbury Cross Country Championships. We left school at 8:30am and arrived at 9:00 at Halswell Quarry. Everyone felt anxious and excited about the day ahead. We were given our personal three digit numbers, with a foam timer installed on the back of the sheet. When our races kicked off, we all felt pumped and empowered. There were lots of pushy competitors and heaps of slimy mud covering our sport shoes and legs. Unfortunately Katelyn got injured and couldn’t complete her race, but tried extremely hard! Grace placed 60th, Malachi placed 111th, Anna placed 104th and Rosie placed 105th.
Overall, we had an amazing time and hope to qualify again next year! Thank you to the kind parents who gave up their time to transport us to the event and look after us/support us.
